i've had my hair this way (straight, black, a bit longer than shoulder length, long bangs tucked behind my ear) for a really long time and I think its time for a change...
I want to get side-swept bangs, would that look good on my face?
and what shape would you consider my face to be? i've always thought my face was oval-shaped, but i'm a little confused about the classification.

with the shortest layer starting around your cheekbone
and then then out the bottom of your hair so it kind of makes a point at the end

u should get a scene cut. this is a cut where the back of ur hair is short and spiked out, where as the rest is parted in the front and cut on and angle from long to short.ask me if u need pix. oh yeah...the hair in the front on an angle could be side swept if u want it to. this would look nice on somebody that has an oval shaped head.

Your face looks pretty close to oval-shaped. I think you should contradict your long/oval face shape with a real choppy look. Instead of the wispy couple strands of bangs that you have, you should pull more hair forward for bangs and have them cut straight across. Then cut your hair to about jaw line. This, along with maybe some products to thicken up your hair. I think that would look awesome!

i think you should maybe wear lip chap and maybe pluck your eyebrows, you would look way prettier lol but dont worry about that u are already pretty. I would probably trim it and just layer it. Maybe get your bangs shorter than the rest or something. I wouldnt do the side bangs though i think it would look awesome layered!!!
